Top Ten Tuesday - Jess's Favorite Books this Year #1

Okay, so I'm really bad at lists. But here we go.

1 - Cinder by Marissa Meyer: I fell in love with this series. I think I technically may have read this one last year, but I read the sequel this year and everything about this series is great. I love the idea of taking a classic fairy tale and totally twisting it up. I definitely can't wait to read the next one!

2 - Coreyography by Corey Feldman: I have an intense love for all things 80's and autobiographies, so this was right up my ally. I'm a huge Corey Feldman fan so I was so excited to read about his life. This book was a weird read, because Feldman truly just writes as he speaks - scattered, disorganized and a bit weird. But so much of this book was heartbreaking and I loved every page of it. Especially the parts about him and Corey Haim. I would definitely read this again.

3 - The D.U.F.F by Kody Keplinger: I included this in another list of mine but I truly enjoyed this book. I loved Bianca's cynical attitude and her intelligence. I'll admit that I didn't love Wesley in the beginning, but the chemistry between the two was wonderful and made for a funny and well written novel.

4-7 - The Goddess Test Series by Aimee Carter: Okay, so I think technically I read these books at the end of last year/beginning of this year. But I absolutely LOVED this series. Greek Gods are such a passion of mine and the idea of them all living secret lives and putting women through a test to marry Hades was just awesome. Kate was such a badass heroine and I loved her and Henry's romance. As the series progressed, I just loved it more and more. I'm really sad that it's over.
8 - The Land of Stories: The Enchantress Returns by Chris Colfer: Okay, so. I guess this is technically a book for kids? I literally don't care. I LOVE this series. I initially only read it because of the author. I love Chris Colfer and wanted to read this story by him. But the fairy tale world he has created is amazing and I cannot wait until the third book comes out soon so I can read that too!

9 - Life After Theft by Aprilynne Pike: I bought this book on a whim once and then just forgot about it. But I finally got around to reading it early this year and was surprised to find that I really loved it. Kimberlee is a total bitch, but you can't help but feel a little sympathy for her. And the idea of righting your wrongs after you're dead, even with the help of the new boy in town, is pretty cool.

10 - Losing It by Cora Carmack - Britney had been telling me for ages to read this book/series. I finally did as she said and read it and actually really enjoyed it. I can definitely see how some would say it was predictable, but it was just such a fun read. I really enjoyed it.
