Top Ten Tuesday: Favorite Books so Far This Year - Britney #1

Top Ten Tuesday is hosted by Broke and Bookish.

Britney:

I found this list to be more difficult to make then I expected. In the end I still cheated and have 12 books instead of 10, and lumped three of them together since they are by the same author.

Splintered (Splintered, #1)Wait for You (Wait for You, #1)White Hot Kiss (The Dark Elements, #1)
More Than Jamie Baker (Jamie Baker, #2)

Splintered by A. G. Howard: I just finished Splintered, and wow was I impressed. This has made it on to my favorite books of all time. To be honest I picked this book up from the library because I thought the covers were pretty. I didn't think I was actually going to enjoy it. From the first page though I was blown away and amazed. I cannot wait to pick up the second book.

Wait For You by J. Lynn, White Hot Kiss, and Don't Look Back by Jennifer L. Arementrout: So, Jennifer L. Arementrout/J. Lynn is my favorite author. I love every book by her, and the books I have read so far by her this year are no exception. First off I read Wait For You, which is a New Adult Novel, and fell in love. Cam is so perfect, and Avery is my girl. OTP for life. Then was White Hot Kiss, which I was first like well this is going to be a weird story about gargoyles. But it was so much better, and something new and unique. And there is Roth, hot demon boy. Jennifer can do no wrong when it comes to the boys in her books. Lastly is Don't Look Back, something a bit different for her. This book was fun to read, and I was all wrong about the whodunnit, complete shock there.

Making Faces by Amy Harmon: I heard this book was like a Beauty and the Beast retelling, and was really heartfelt so I decided why not give it a go. This was probably one of the greatest books I have ever read, and will remember it forever. It showed what love really is, and it doesn't have to be all about how a person looks. Yes, I did cry quite a bit in this book.

More Than Jamie Baker by Kelly Oram: This series is just so much fun. Or at least it was until the end of this book! All the characters in this book are just so cute and fun, you can't help but adore them. It is something different for a girl to have super powers, while her boyfriend doesn't.

Foreplay (The Ivy Chronicles, #1)Scarlet (The Lunar Chronicles, #2)The One (The Selection, #3)
City of Heavenly Fire (The Mortal Instruments, #6)Sweet Reckoning (The Sweet Trilogy, #3)Ignite Me (Shatter Me, #3)

Foreplay by Sophie Jordan: I thought a lot of this book would be purely sex, and not much else to it. Except it did have a lot more to it. This book actually managed to break my heart, and I was quite worried about how it was all going to end. Sophie Jordan has become one of my favorite authors thanks to this book.

Scarlet by Marissa Meyer: I loved Cinder so I was ready to dive right into this and love it, and oh my gosh was it wonderful or what. I liked it even more than Cinder, and Scarlet is so bamf (and yes I like her more than Cinder but I love Cinder so much still). I love how all the characters come together, and you get to continue to see your favorite characters from the last book. I need to read Cress now.

The One by Kiera Cass: So I know a lot of people have a love hate relationship with this book, think of it as a guilty pleasure, and pretty much hate America but I guess I'm in the minority here. I think this series is wonderful, and it is so much more than a guilty pleasure for me. I also don't hate America, I know she has a tough time making decisions but if I was in her position I would too, I think. Especially when it came to picking between the two boys because I think they are both great, even if I am Team Maxon. I just love this series.

City of Heavenly Fire by Cassandra Clare: I was terrified to read this book because I didn't want my favorite characters to die. This was a fantastic conclusion to the series, and just about everything I could have asked for. The word Cassandra Clare has created is so wonderful, and I can't wait to read her other series that she's working on.

Sweet Reckoning by Wendy Higgins: I really didn't want this series to end. I'm still sad that it is over (except that it kind of isn't now :D). This was yet another great conclusion that I read this year. It did not disappoint me in the least.

Ignite Me by Tahereh Mafi: My favorite series ever! I can't even talk about this without wanting to squeal in excitement. Another series I didn't really think I'd like but oh how wrong was I. Everyday I think about how I just want to re-read the trilogy, and experience my lovely boyfriend Warner all over again.
