Waiting On Wednesday - Britney #3

Waiting On Wednesday is hosted by Breaking The Spine.

My pick for this week is:
Wild (The Ivy Chronicles, #3)
Wild  by Sophie Jordan
Publication Date: November 18, 2014
Summary: A good girl goes fabulously bad in the final book in New York Times bestselling author Sophie Jordan's sexy New Adult romance series, in which three Ivy League suite-mates seek higher knowledge of just how far they can go.

Months after he boyfriend dumped her, Georgia can still hear the insults he hurled at her. Boring. Predictable. Tame. Tired of feeling bad, she's ready to change her image, and go a little wild. What better way to prove her ex wrong than a hot night of sexual adventure at the secret campus kink club?

In the shadowy den of the kink club, she unexpectedly runs into Logan Mulvaney, her friend's little brother. A player extraordinaire too hot for his own good, he may be younger, but the guy is light years ahead when it comes to sexual experience. Now he's telling her to go home-
"good girls" don't belong here!

Georgia is tired of having others define her. She's going to teach Logan
a lesson he won't forget-one white hot, mind-wrecking kiss...
that leads to another...and another...and...Realizing she's way in over
hear head, Georgia runs.

Only Logan won't let her go. Everywhere she goes he's there, making
her want every inch of him. Making her forget who she is. Who he is.
And just how wrong they are for each other.

Why I'm Waiting On This Book:

Every since Logan was introduced in the first book I have been in love with him. Now he gets a book where he is the main love interest and I can only imagine how much harder I'm going to fall for him. Logan is ultimate book boyfriend material, I wonder what else he has going on for him that we will find out in this book.

A Small Book Haul

Last week when Jess and I hung out, we headed off to Barnes and Noble. I felt like spending some money on new books, so that is what I did.

Unhinged (Splintered, #2)These Broken Stars (Starbound, #1)

Splintered: This was the first book I picked up. I had read it
previously from the library, and since I loved it so much
I needed to own it. I squealed when I saw it sitting on the table there, and eagerly picked it up.

Unhinged- This was sitting on the table near Splintered
and since I loved Splintered so much, I knew I had
to get this one to devour. I scooped it up, and admired the beautiful cover.

These Broken Stars - I've thought  this cover was beautiful forever and have been wanting to read it since it came out, so I'm super excited to finally own it.

To All The Boys I've Loved Before- I've heard so much about this book, and not a single thing was bad. Since reading all the great reviews I've wanted to get my hands on this.

Open Road Summer - When I first heard about this book I wasn't sure if I'd read it or not. Since then I've heard how great it is, and how amazing the love interest was. When I saw this at Barnes and Noble I decided to pick this up.

Britney's Waiting On Wednesday #2

The Return  by Jennifer L. Armentrout

Waiting On Wednesday is hosted by Breaking The Spine

My pick for this week is:

The Return (Titan, #1)Publication Date: February 2015
Summary: It has been a year since Seth made the deal with the gods that pledged his life to them. And so far, the jobs they've given him have been violent and bloody - which is kind of all right with him. But now Apollo has something else in mind for Seth. He's got to play protector while keeping his hands and fingers off, and for someone who really has a problem with restraint, this new assignment might be the most challenging yet.

Josie has no idea what this crazy hot guy's deal might be, but it's a good bet that his arrival means the new life she started after leaving home is about to be thrown into an Olympian-sized blender turned up to "puree". Either Josie is going insane or a nightmare straight out of an ancient myth is gunning for her.

But it might be the unlikely attraction simmering between her and the golden-eyed, secret-keeping Seth that may prove to be the most dangerous thing of all.

Book 1 in the new adult paranormal TITAN series,
spin-off the best selling COVENANT series.

Why I'm waiting on this book:
The Covenant series was so wonderful and when it ended I was so sad, so now that there is a spin-off I'm super pumped. I had a love hate relationship with Seth, but in the end I did end up loving him. I'm glad he is going to get to have his story told, and that we will get to experience it. I'm also excited for characters from the Covenant series to randomly pop up.

Jess' Top Ten Books on Summer TBR List #2

Hosted by Broke and Bookish.

Sweet Reckoning by Wendy Higgins: I love, love, love this series and was finally able to borrow the third one from Britney. I can't wait to read it!

Asylum by Madeleine Roux: I have been wanting to read this book since I first saw it. I am fascinated by stories like this and can't wait to read it this summer.
To All the Boys I've Loved Before by Jenny Han: I have heard nothing but awesome things about this book, so of course it's on my list to read.
Copper Girl by Jennifer Allis Provost: I accidentally got in line for this book at BookCon. The author was SO nice and after looking at the book, it seems definitely interesting. I can't wait to give it a try.
Cress by Marissa Meyer: Another book in a series I love.
Since You've Been Gone by Morgan Matson: Another book that I've heard awesome things about. It seems like such a good book and I'm excited to read it.

Half-Blood by Jennifer L. Armentrout: Britney has been telling me for ages to read this book. So, it's finally on my list of things to read. Plus, I love absolutely everything that Jennifer L. Armentrout does, so. I'm sure I'll love this.
Nearly Gone by Elle Cosimano: This book looks super interesting. I am fascinated by serial killers and mysteries, so this definitely looks awesome.
Nil by Lynne Matson: To be honest, I don't know a lot about this book. But I was scanning through Britney's bookshelves (I borrow all my books from Britney) and spotted this and it just looked super appealing. So, it's on my list to read this summer!
Splintered by A.G. Howard: Britney gave this book an amazing review and I love anything based on fairy tales, so I can't wait to read this book based on Alice in Wonderland.

Top Ten Books on Summer TBR - Britney #2

Top Ten Tuesday is hosted by Broke and Bookish.

This week's topic is the top ten books on our summer TBR.

Second StarAll Lined Up (Rusk University, #1)Since You've Been Gone

Breakable (Contours of the Heart, #2)Silver Shadows (Bloodlines, #5)

Second Star by Alyssa B. Sheinmel - This is a Peter Pan retelling kind of book, and I love Peter Pan oh so much. The minute I heard about this book I knew I needed to read it, so I have to get to it sometime this summer.

All Lined Up by Cora Carmack - Cora is one of my favorite authors, and I've enjoyed all of her books so far. I can't believe that I haven't read this yet.

Since You've Been Gone by Morgan Matson - Morgan Matson is another of my favorite authors and this just sounds like such a cool book. I love bucket list type things, and am so excited to read this.

Breakable by Tammara Webber - Easy is one of my favorite books ever. It may even actually be my favorite. The whole thing just blew me away, and was so much more than I expected. When I heard we were going to get a book from Lucas' point of view I think I squealed. This is another book that I can't believe I haven't read yet.

Silver Shadows by Richelle Mead - After the ending of the last book, I needed this book months ago. That ending was so cruel, and I'm so worried about how Adrian is going to be in this book. So, so nervous but so excited for this book to come out.

Opposition (Lux, #5)These Broken Stars (Starbound, #1)To All the Boys I've Loved Before (To All the Boys I've Loved Before, #1)
Better When He's Bad (Welcome to the Point, #1)Isla and the Happily Ever After (Anna and the French Kiss, #3)

Opposition by Jennifer L. Armentrout - The last book in the Lux series! I'm sad for the series to end, but I'm dying to get my hands on this book to see what is going to happen. The last book left at such a cliffhanger, ugh.

These Broken Stars by Amie Kaufman and Meagan Spooner - First off this is just about the most beautiful cover that I have ever seen. Then the concept of the book sounds so cool. People have said it's like the Titanic in space, and that sounds to wonderful to me.

To All The Boy's I've Loved Before by Jenny Han - Jenny Han is wonderful. I've heard nothing but great things about this book, so why wouldn't I have to read it?

Better When He's Bad by Jay Crownover - So I own all the Marked Men books on my kindle, but have yet to read them. Yet when I heard about this book I swooned; it is everything I could ever ask for. All the reviews so far seem so great, and it makes me that much more excited.

Isla and the Happily Ever After by Stephanie Perkins - How could I not put this on my list? I've been eagerly waiting for this since Lola and the Boy Next Door. The books are just so cute, and the perfect summer read.

Britney's Review of Splintered

Splintered (Splintered, #1)

Splintered by A. G. Howard
Published Date: January 1, 2013
Summary: This stunning debut captures the grotesque madness of a mystical underland, as well as a girl's pangs of first love and independence. Alyssa Gardner hears the whispers of bugs and flowers-precisely the affliction that landed her mother in a mental hospital years before. This family curse stretches back to her ancestor Alice Liddell, the real-life inspiration for Lewis Carroll's Alice's Adventures in Wonderland. Alyssa might be crazy, bug she manages to keep it together. For now. When her mother's mental health takes a turn for the worse, Alyssa learns that what she though was fiction is based in terrifying reality. The real Wonderland is a place far darker and more twisted than Lewis Carroll ever let on. There, Alyssa must pass a series of tests, including draining ocean of Alice's tears, waking the slumbering tea party, and subduing a vicious bandersnatch, to fix Alice's mistakes and save her family. She must also decide whom to trust: Jeb, her gorgeous best friend and secret crush, or the sexy but suspicious Morpheus, her guide through Wonderland, who may have
dark motives of his own.

My Rating: 5/5 Stars!

My Review: To be completely honest I added this book to my TBR simply because I thought the cover was gorgeous, and I knew it had something to do with Alice in Wonderland. Then one day when I was at the library they had this book, so I decided to take it and read it. I've never been happier to have taken a book out of the library. This book had me hooked from page one. Everything about it was just so wonderful. Then there is the wonderful Jeb, who I instantly fell in love with. Alyssa loves her family so much, and is willing to do just about anything to get rid of this curse. Morpheus is pretty wonderful too, even if I love Jeb more. Some of the twists that happened in this book, I didn't see coming at all. I thought about giving this like a 4.99999999 out of 5 stars because of something that happened at the end of the book that I won't mention because spoilers. All in all this has become one of my favorite series, so much so that I just went out and bought this book and the second one, Unhinged, so I can enjoy them any time I want. Well done, A.G. Howard, well done.

Waiting on Wednesday - Jess #1

Jess:

The Land of Stories: A Grimm Warning by Chris Colfer
Publication Date: July 8th, 2014
Summary (Taken from Goodreads): Conner Bailey thinks his fairy-tale adventures are behind him--until he discovers a mysterious clue left by the famous Brothers Grimm. With help from his classmate Bree and the outlandish Mother Goose, Conner sets off on a mission across Europe to crack a two-hundred-year-old code.

Meanwhile, Alex Bailey is training to become the next Fairy Godmother...but her attempts at granting wishes never go as planned. Will she ever be truly ready to lead the Fairy Council?

When all signs point to disaster for the Land of Stories, Conner and Alex must join forces with their friends and enemies to save the day. But nothing can prepare them for the coming battle...or for the secret that will change the twins' lives forever.

The third book in the bestselling Land of Stories series puts the twins to the test as they must bring two worlds together!
Why I can't wait for it: I love this series. The first two books were so amazing. Without giving away any spoilers, the second one ended in a way I did NOT see coming and a way that truly led me to believe that there was no where else for the series to go. I'm very interested to see how this third book overcomes the events of the last book. Plus, I love anything about fairy tale characters, so I am beyond excited for this book to come out!
