Rebel Belle Review

Rebel Belle

     Title:  Rebel Belle
Author: Rachel Hawkins
Published: April 8, 2014
Summary: Harper Price, a peerless Southern belle, was born ready for a Homecoming tiara. But after a strange run-in at the dance imbues her with incredible abilities, Harper's destiny takes a turn for the seriously weird. She becomes a Paladin, one of the ancient line of guardians with agility, super strength and lethal fighting instincts.

Just when life can't get any more disastrously crazy, Harper finds out who she's charged to protect: David Stark, school reporter, subject of a mysterious prophecy and possibly Harper's least favorite person. But things get complicated when Harper starts falling for him-and discovers that David's own fate could very well be to destroy Earth.

With snappy banter, cotillion dresses, non-stop action and a touch of
magic, this new young adult series from bestseller Rachel Hawkins is
going to make y'all beg for more.

My review:
When I first read about what this book was about I was confused. Then when I figured it out, I decided it probably wouldn't be a book I would enjoy, although I adore Rachel Hawkins. After it got released I saw a ton of people reading it, and in their reviews they all said how much they loved the book, and they all seemed to be giving it five stars. After seeing all those great reviews I decided I would give it a try. I'm very thankful that I did end up reading this book, because it was wonderful. Rachel Hawkins delivered yet another funny book, with kick butt characters. She makes it so you fall in love with all the characters, and feel some kind of connection for them. You get deeply invested in their story. One of the problems I did have with this book was how quickly Harper seemed to be over her boyfriend, and didn't seem to care if they broke up or not. Other than that this book was basically everything you could ask for. With how it ended I need to read the second book and see what is going to happen.

My rating: 4.5/5 Stars
